Understanding How Glutathione Works in the Body

Glutathione is a very effective nutritional supplement. It's a peptide that's made up of three amino acids. Glutathione helps the body to fight off disease and infection. This antioxidant does this by supercharging the other antioxidants. Every cell in the body produces Glutathione. It is essential for overall health and helps to regulate many of the body's life sustaining functions. In fact the amount of Glutathione the body contains on the cellular level can determine how long a person will live. If your Glutathione level is low, you should begin supplementing it right away.

Glutathione plays several very important roles in the body. It boosts white blood cell production, fights inflammation, nourishes the cells, and preserves cell health. Glutathione improves lung, heart, circulation, and cognitive function. Research shows it also plays a role in increasing energy and slowing the rate at which people's cells age. Glutathione also strengthens the immune system and helps to prevent cellular destruction by stabilizing free radicals and disrupting the negative impact free radicals can have on the human body.

One of the ways the body protects itself from disease is by systematically detoxifying itself naturally. This enables the body to rid itself of carcinogens, heavy metals, pollutants, viruses, dead cells, waste products, and anything else which can prevent the body from functioning at an optimal level. Glutathione is essential to the body's detoxification process. For the process to take place efficiently, the body needs an adequate amount of Glutathione. Its role in strengthening antioxidants is a crucial part of the body's detoxification process.

The body can only excrete water soluble substances. Glutathione is necessary to enable the liver to transform fat soluble waste into water soluble waste which can be flushed out of the body through the kidneys and the bowels. If enough Glutathione is not present in the body, there will be a dangerous buildup of poisons in the liver. This can lead to liver damage and cause high blood pressure, stroke, heart attacks and strokes, gallstones and gallbladder disease, Type 2 diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome, depression, irritability, bacterial and parasitic infections, obesity and a host of serious skin problems.

DNA, fat, and protein synthesis all require Glutathione. It also plays an important role in the transportation of amino acid throughout the body and enzyme regulation. Glutathione helps to heal damaged cells and DNA as well. All of these processes require a significant amount of Glutathione. Fortunately each cell produces this very important component. However, monitoring the body's Glutathione level is essential. Should test show the levels are too lows people should immediately take steps to increase those levels by taking Glutathione supplements.

It is very important that if low levels of Glutathione are identified, the situation is not ignored. Low levels of Glutathione been linked to a wide array of debilitating diseases and serious health challenges. Researchers have found inadequate levels of Glutathione can lead to AIDS, Alzheimer's disease, Asthma, Atherosclerosis, Autism, Cancer, Cataracts, Cirrhosis, Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, Osteoporosis, and Parkinson's disease. Without enough Glutathione in their systems people are also more susceptible to complications during pregnancy, balding, Bronchitis, chronic fatigue, diminished sex drive, insomnia, infertility, migraines, PMS, poor eyesight, Psoriasis, and wrinkles.
The importance of the role Glutathione in the immune system cannot be overstated. Not only does the immune system need to be strong enough to fight off all manner of disease and infections, it must also be able to shut itself down so it does not harm the body. An overactive immune system is dangerous. It can cause autoimmune diseases like ALS, Crohn's disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, Grave's disease, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Multiple Sclerosis to develop. Glutathione feeds and strengthens T-cells that are responsible for shutting off the immune system when all current threats have been neutralized.

Free radicals cause all types of problems in the body. They break down cell membranes, damage DNA and the immune system, and cause disease and speed up the aging process. Air pollution, alcohol, cigarette smoke, illegal drugs, pesticides, prescription medications, radiation, sugar, and many other environmental agents and things people ingest lead to free radical production. Glutathione and other antioxidants control free radicals and protect the brain, vision, cardiovascular health, and immune system from the damage free radicals can do.

Glutathione is the most powerful and abundant natural antioxidant. It protects and strengthens the cells, brain and body in numerous ways. Unfortunately, Glutathione production decreases dramatically after age 20. This limits the effectiveness of Vitamins C and E and other antioxidants. Glutathione is critical for good health. As people age if they want to maintain their health and strength they should take a Glutathione supplement regularly. This will improve cellular health and protect the brain, breasts, nervous system, prostate, and all the organs.

Many people have never heard of Glutathione. However, it is one of the most important natural elements in the body. It is responsible for improving the function of many of the body's system. Testing the Glutathione level as people age and making sure to take Glutathione supplements can help maintain good health and improve the quality of people's lives.
